Step Into the Shadows
A Whodunit Creative Writing Workshop
As night falls over the historic West Horsley Place, step into a world of suspense and storytelling in this immersive murder mystery workshop. Guided by professional storyteller Helen Haxell-White, you’ll take on a character role, investigate a fictional crime scene, and craft your own whodunit tale.
The evening begins with an introduction to the elements of mystery writing, followed by character assignments — one of you will even be the murderer. You’ll move through different rooms to uncover clues, visit the murder scene, and retrace the victim’s final steps. Using your discoveries, you’ll develop a short story from your character’s point of view.
The evening concludes with candlelit story-sharing, guessing the murderer’s identity, and a dramatic reveal. You'll leave with a completed story, improved writing skills, and a thrilling experience to remember.
